I’ve always loved gallery walls. I think they work best when you really pick a design point to become your statement. In my case I did all black and white, and went non-symmetry and also took the frames all the way up and down. I think it works because there is barely any accent furniture in this room. I just love it! I know I really love something when I’m finally finished I see the end result and it quite literally makes me smile. My Dad came for a visit the other day and he wasn’t too keen on it. Wondering what you guys think? Into the statement gallery walls? or prefer a more simple approach (as my dad would prefer)? I promise I won’t be offended, design is personal and not everything is for everyone! I never take offense. 😊
Hubby spent a little time on Sunday dusting off his record player and amp and moving it into the living room 😊. When we met he was in a rock band. It was really so much fun! Living in the city and spending weekends in bars watching them rock out! Life is so different now but he’s still such a rockstar. He gives me full rein on decorating our house. He knows it brings me so much joy to bring my vision to life, so even though he may have opinions he really just leaves it to me. It’s really made me realize how lucky I am, and how important it is for me to make this house reflect who he is as well. This little rock n roll corner is the perfect balance. And that leopard chair totally sets the mood! 🐆 🎸
Saturday’s breakfast 👌🏼
Big fan of cooking in this new kitchen. Like huge! Also, very big fan of this @sakaralife bread I whipped up yesterday! I was so intimidated by the amount of seeds involved and lack of traditional flour but it’s so incredible and yummy and was honestly super easy to make. I’ve been trying to dig even deeper into clean eating and eliminating some of the things that seem to irritate my gut and cause inflammation. This book has been a great tool for that. I highly recommend it!
Easy like Sunday morning 🥰
I was very intentional about all the details of this small kitchen of mine. Especially with this corner. I knew I wouldn’t have enough cabinet space for all the cookware. I don’t have that many pots and pans, but all the other little things needed a place too. And all the gorgeous white Le Creuset pieces I’ve been collecting (I swear this is the limit on my collection 🙈) were just too pretty to hide. So I knew I needed corner shelves right next to the range to store them all. They are the only pots and pans I use, we got rid of all the stainless so they needed to be accessible. I also had my gold anthro spoons and spatulas hanging in our old kitchen which was so nice to have while cooking, I knew I had to incorporate that as well. I purchased a 3/8” brass curtain rod cut to size and rod holders from this super random mom and pop run website that sells curtains and hardware for vintage houses. It worked out perfectly. I also knew I wanted the tile all the way up to the ceiling. Without uppers or crown molding it could feel a bit unfinished. So I wanted the hood to really feel “designed” into the space and not just plopped up there for function. So I searched for one with a matching stainless crown molding and there is literally one brand (as far as I could find) that makes that. Zline, so far it works wonderfully and I’m really so happy with the look!
