I’ve been so anxious lately. Most of you know my grandmother recently past. She lived a very full life so I will preface to say that I don’t feel as if I am really in “mourning” in the true sense of the word. I feel as if I am celebrating her life and legacy. Laughing inwardly at her sweet humor and contagious laugh. I find memories of her come and go throughout the day. Smiling over all them. And how warm she felt. There’s something about grandparents. They just feel warm. Like comfort. We are so grateful to have had her on this earth for 92 years. But watching and waiting for someone to pass is so emotionally draining. I keep thinking of my mother, and what she must have been and is still going through inwardly. I get a wave of sadness when I think of that. And I’m dreading the day I ever have to be in her shoes. Witnessing the end of a life cycle of someone you were so close to is surreal and really makes you think of literally everything life is about. Anyway this post was not going to be about something so sad. I was really just trying to get around to saying that I’m sitting here flipping through cookbooks for inspiration, trying to get a sense of calm and peace. Just feeling grateful that I have these few moments alone on this beautiful Friday. I sense my days of being home 2 days with my babies might come to an end sooner than later and right now I’m just gonna soak it all in. The moments I’m playing with them, and the moments they are at school or napping. Because everything good must end someday. Happy Friday folks!

I’ve always loved gallery walls. I think they work best when you really pick a design point to become your statement. In my case I did all black and white, and went non-symmetry and also took the frames all the way up and down. I think it works because there is barely any accent furniture in this room. I just love it! I know I really love something when I’m finally finished I see the end result and it quite literally makes me smile. My Dad came for a visit the other day and he wasn’t too keen on it. Wondering what you guys think? Into the statement gallery walls? or prefer a more simple approach (as my dad would prefer)? I promise I won’t be offended, design is personal and not everything is for everyone! I never take offense. 😊

Hubby spent a little time on Sunday dusting off his record player and amp and moving it into the living room 😊. When we met he was in a rock band. It was really so much fun! Living in the city and spending weekends in bars watching them rock out! Life is so different now but he’s still such a rockstar. He gives me full rein on decorating our house. He knows it brings me so much joy to bring my vision to life, so even though he may have opinions he really just leaves it to me. It’s really made me realize how lucky I am, and how important it is for me to make this house reflect who he is as well. This little rock n roll corner is the perfect balance. And that leopard chair totally sets the mood! 🐆 🎸

Saturday’s breakfast 👌🏼

Big fan of cooking in this new kitchen. Like huge! Also, very big fan of this @sakaralife bread I whipped up yesterday! I was so intimidated by the amount of seeds involved and lack of traditional flour but it’s so incredible and yummy and was honestly super easy to make. I’ve been trying to dig even deeper into clean eating and eliminating some of the things that seem to irritate my gut and cause inflammation. This book has been a great tool for that. I highly recommend it!
